The following image has been kindly supplied by Mary Cole. It is a picture of her parents standing on the steps of St Erkenwald's South porch, taken after their wedding on 10th November 1918. Mary says "You will notice how ill my Father looks. He was recovering from being shot through the leg on September 2nd. He went to war (Essex Regiment) a fit young man, and came back an old one."
